Stoke City: Potters Are 9th Highest Wage Payers

Xherdan Shaqiri... has helped swell Stoke's wage bill

STOKE City’s wage bill is now the ninth highest in the Premier League.

That’s the claim of after collating figures from all 20 top-flight clubs.

It puts Stoke’s wage bill for this season at £72.3m (it was £66.5m for 2014/15) after adding the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Gianelli Imbula to the payroll, while improved contracts have also been recently issued to Bojan and Jack Butland.

The new table has Stoke sandwiched between Sunderland on £71m and Everton on £74.7m.
