Man Utd striker deal, Arsenal and Chelsea battle, Liverpool signing hailed

Barcelona are set to offer Neymar a new contract worth £500,000-a-week to fend off interest from Manchester United, according to The Sun.

The Brazilian has emerged as a prime target for United with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward prepared to sanction a stunning £137m bid to activate his release clause.

But the Catalan giants are determined to hold on to their man and hope the new deal, which would make Neymar the third highest paid player, will persuade him to stay at the Camp Nou.

Arsenal and Chelsea are set to battle it out to sign Paris St-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, claim.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a summer bid for the Uruguayan after missing out on Karim Benzema but no move materialised.

But it is claimed the 28-year-old has his sights set on a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Firmino arrived at Anfield over the summer for £29m from Hoffenheim but has struggled to find his best form in a Liverpool shirt.
But Klopp believes he will soon be displaying the form he showed in Germany, saying: “He’s a skilled player. I’d say a year ago for a few months for sure he was the best player in the Bundesliga.”
