TRANSFER GOSSIP

Chelsea are considering a move for England forward Raheem Sterling, 20, after his contract talks with Liverpool stalled.

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, 26, told his Germany team-mates during the recent international break that a summer move to Manchester United is on the verge of being agreed.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar, 23, is set to become Juventus’ priority transfer target this summer at the request of manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, 31, has been described as a “dream” target for Inter Milan.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal’s top midfield target is Netherlands international Kevin Strootman, 25, of Roma, not 22-year-old Paul Pogba of Juventus, who is a former Red Devils player.

Chelsea are keen on signing Pogba and may let midfielders Oscar or Ramires, 28, leave as part of the deal. However, if the London club are unsuccessful in their attempt to sign Pogba, they will try Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, 23 instead.

Eight clubs want to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, 24, at the end of the season.

Manchester United are considering an £11m bid for Lille and Denmark defender Simon Kjaer, 26.

Lazio have earmarked Southampton’s Italy striker Graziano Pelle, 29, as a replacement for Miroslav Klose, 36, who is expected to retire this summer.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is keen to make four signings during the summer after the club posted a £23m pre-tax profit.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez says he is not worried that striker Romelu Lukaku has changed his agent and does not believe the 21-year-old wants to leave Goodison Park.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk says goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, 29, will stay with the club, despite being linked with a move to Serie A side Roma.

Former Liverpool captain Phil Thompson says the Reds need to sign another striker in the summer. Thompson wants them to move for Paris St-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi, 29, or his team-mate Edinson Cavani, 28, or bid for Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, 27.
