West Ham have rejected a bid from Fulham for midfield starlet Ravel Morrison.

The offer, reported to be in the region of £4m, was immediately turned down. The Hammers reportedly value the former Manchester United at closer to £10m.

Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen, who previously claimed to have no interest in signing Morrison, has acknowledged that his side have been knocked back after an initial bid for the 20-year-old.

The Dutchman, who worked with Morrison at United, said: “We got knocked back.

“We need to review it and move on. I left it with (chief executive) Alistair Mackintosh. I’ve explained what I think about the situation so we’ll have to see what happens.

“I make my desires clear then leave it to those people to deal with it. We will review it because I don’t know exactly the ins and outs of how it’s been rejected.

“(Morrison offers) youthfulness, energy, unpredictability, strength. Loads of things.”

Meulensteen also claims that Morrison is keen to make the move from Upton Park to Craven Cottage.

He said: “I have known him a long time. Yes. He does want to come here.”

Morrison has 18 months to run on his £15,000-a-week deal with the Hammers.
