ANDREW Boyce has signed an 18-month contract with Scunthorpe United, after his loan deal from Lincoln City became a permanent switch today.

The 24-year-old initially arrived at Glanford Park in a month ago, but the fact it would become a full-time switch was always the intention once the transfer window reopened at the beginning of January.

Boyce, who played for Gainsborough Trinity, alongside his Iron team-mate Luke Waterfall, before joining the Imps in 2012, has made two first-team appearances for Scunthorpe, both as a makeshift midfielder.

Manager Russ Wilcox has previously spoken about Boyce’s versatility, but it is as a central-back the former Doncaster Rovers junior has played most of his career.
